HARRISBURG, Pa.- PennDOT announced Pennsylvanians can review and comment on a draft of new state transportation plans.
The 2027 Statewide Transportation Improvement Program (STIP) lists projects that will receive federal, state, local, and private funding over the course of four years, according to a news release by PennDOT.
Residents will be able to comment until 5:00 p.m. on June 30.
The 2027 STIP is primarily made up of 24 regional programs, according to the report.
PennDOT said it is updated every two years after regional programs are submitted and approved.
Officials said the programs will be adopted by the State Transportation Commission during its upcoming Business meeting on Aug. 5.
“PennDOT’s primary objective is to build and maintain a transportation network that serves all of our travelers,” Mike Carroll, PennDOT Secretary, said. “That requires the participation and perspective of everyone who uses it.”
Residents can view the draft and comment on a form through the TalkPA Transportation website.
