Barbara A. Weaknecht
OBITUARY
Barbara A. Weaknecht, 88, passed away peacefully in her home on May 2, 2026, held in the comfort of a life richly lived and a faith that never wavered.
Born to Max and Catharine (Deisher) Biery, Barbara carried with her a deep love for God that shaped every chapter of her life. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jack W. W. Weaknecht, who passed in 2005. She is lovingly remembered by her children: Kim Toth, widow of Andrew; Jill Weaknecht, wife of Theo; and Jack Weaknecht, husband of Denise. She is also survived by her sister, Elaine Ziegler, wife of Terry, as well as 7 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren, each carrying forward a piece of her gentle spirit.
Barbara was a proud graduate of Emmaus High School and Allentown Business School. She dedicated many years of her professional life to Western Electric and later lent her talents to several local bakeries, where her careful bookkeeping and steady reliability were deeply appreciated.
But Barbara’s life was about far more than work. She was a gifted pianist who brought joy and rhythm to many as a longtime musician for the Brandywine Minstrel. Music was one of her great loves—whether playing, listening, or simply tapping along with a smile. She was also a lifelong and devoted member of Longswamp UCC, where her faith found expression not just in words, but in action, kindness, and community.
Barbara found her greatest happiness in the simple, beautiful moments: tending to her garden, sharing laughter with family, caring for animals, and surrounding herself with music. Above all, she treasured time with her family who were the light of her life and the recipients of her boundless love.
Barbara’s life was a testament to faith, family, and finding joy in the everyday. Her presence will be greatly missed, but her legacy of love, music, and devotion will continue to echo in the hearts of all who knew her.
A calling hour will be held on Monday, May 11, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Longswamp UCC, 200 Clay Road, Mertztown, PA 19539, followed by a service at 11:00 a.m.
