The Scranton Area Community Foundation recently announced that NEPA Gives 2026 raised over $1.6 million in just 24 hours to support 400+ nonprofit organizations across Northeast Pennsylvania.

The seventh annual event, held on June 4 and 5, brought together more than 7,800 donors to support the critical work of nonprofits making a difference throughout the region.

NEPA Gives is the largest day of giving in Northeast Pennsylvania, hosted by the Scranton Area Community Foundation in partnership with The Luzerne Foundation, Wayne County Community Foundation, Greater Pike Community Foundation, Carbon County Community Foundation, Community Foundation for the Twin Tiers, Community Foundation of Monroe County, Schuylkill Area Community Foundation, Posture Interactive, and dozens of generous community sponsors.

“NEPA Gives continues to demonstrate what is possible when a community comes together around a shared commitment to making a difference,” said Laura Ducceschi, president and CEO of the Scranton Area Community Foundation. “The generosity shown by donors, sponsors, nonprofit organizations, volunteers, media partners, and community supporters throughout this year’s event was truly inspiring. Together, we are helping to build a stronger, more vibrant Northeastern Pennsylvania.”

Thanks to nearly $300,000 in bonus funds, matching gifts, and incentive prizes, donations went even further to help participating nonprofits maximize their fundraising potential.

Support came from every corner of the region, both online and in person. A NEPA Gives Launch Party was held on June 4 at SACF’s headquarters in the historic Century Club of Scranton, and celebrations continued across NEPA as nonprofits and partner organizations hosted events of their own to mark the occasion.

The event’s success was made possible through the support of generous sponsors, including the Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Foundation, Northeastern Pennsylvania Health Care Foundation, Pocono Mountains Visitors Bureau, Schwartz-Mack Foundation, William G. McGowan Charitable Fund, and many others.

Since launching in 2020, NEPA Gives has raised more than $8.3 million for local nonprofits, with this year’s event marking a nearly 25% increase over last year.
