Flea market/food sale: St. John’s RO Church flea market and food sale, Saturday, 8 a.m.-2 p.m., hot dogs, sloppy joes, cabbage and noodles, and bake sale items will be available for purchase along with many household and seasonal items. The hall is located at 378 Lyon St., Clifford Twp., just off Route 247 by Dundaff corners.
Factoryville
Sportsmen meet: Factoryville Sportsmen’s Club regular monthly meeting will be held June 24 at 7:30 p.m. in the clubhouse. Prior to the meeting, a roadside cleanup will be conducted on Route 6 in Factoryville. Those participating are asked to meet at the club at 5 p.m. for supplies and directions. After the cleanup, a light barbecue and refreshments will be provided to those who help in this project.

Sports seminar: Pete Cordelli, former quarterback/wide receiver coach for the late Lou Holtz at Notre Dame, will be the keynote speaker at the “Making The Grade” seminar Thursday at Brennan Hall at the University of Scranton. The program, which is part of the Lackawanna County Commissioners Youth Sports Initiative, is designed to be a valuable resource for parents, coaches, players and school advisers, covering several pertinent topics to prepare people for the world of collegiate athletics. Garbage/recycling collection: City of Scranton offices and the Department of Public Works will be closed in observance of Juneteenth. Garbage and recycling will be one day behind just for Friday.
Throop
Garbage collection: The Throop Municipal Building and DPW will be closed June 19. Friday’s trash will be collected June 22.
