A sculpture celebrating the 250th birthday of the United States was recently dedicated in Clarks Summit. The sculpture is the work of Scott Nichols and is located at Veterans Park along North State Street. Funding for the $5,000 project came from Abington Memorial Post 7069, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Clarks Summit, with a donation of $3,500, and its auxiliary with a contribution of $500. The remainder of the cost was secured through a Lackawanna County grant.
