READING, Pa. – A man who was shot multiple times in south Reading early Tuesday afternoon has died, according to the Berks County coroner.
The gunfire was reported shortly before 1 p.m. in the 200 block of Pearl Street, between Chestnut and Spruce streets.

Initial reports from the scene were that the victim was shot three times. An ambulance rushed him to Reading Hospital, where he died later Tuesday.
Uniformed RPD officers cordoned off a large area as they scoured the block as well as nearby Gem Alley for evidence.
Investigators have not yet provided any additional information about the shooting or the victim.
