ALLENTOWN, Pa. – A longtime spot for cheesesteaks, chilled drinks and chatter among friends is finding new life in Lehigh County.
Pregame Bar & Grill, a casual American pub, is expected to open in mid-July at 222 E. Hamilton St. in Allentown, a manager told 69 News.
The new bar and restaurant, with seating for roughly 45 guests, will operate just east of the Hamilton Street Bridge, spanning the Lehigh River.
Workers spent the past few months overhauling the property, which previously housed Freddie’s Bar & Grille, a bar and restaurant that closed earlier this year after more than three decades of operation.
Improvements include new dry wall, flooring, lighting, TVs, high-top tables and chairs and updated bathrooms.

The Pregame team also implemented a more modern, industrial look by exposing a brick wall, adding metal and wood accents and upgrading the façade to feature new, garage-style doors that staff members will open during pleasant weather.
The establishment also will feature an updated rear patio, where guests can enjoy drinks and food al fresco, the manager said.
A refurbished, U-shaped bar will offer seating around 20 guests and will serve a rotating lineup of six draft beers, along with a wide array of bottled beers, wines and classic and signature cocktails.
A limited food menu will feature appetizers such as fries, nachos and wings; and handhelds such as burgers, cheesesteaks and signature sandwiches.
