A woman evicted from her South Scranton residence about a year ago returned to the neighborhood Sunday and threatened to blow up a home there, according to a criminal complaint.
Stacey Hubshman, 49, is accused of making terroristic threats, simple assault and harassment.
According to the criminal complaint, James Loven came to the Scranton police station on Sunday to report Hubshman had threatened him.
He told officers that although she had been evicted about a year ago, she repeatedly returned to the area at odd hours of the day to harass and intimidate his family.
He said Hubshman’s repeated presence near his home was an ongoing source of concern for his family.
He described her actions as “unwanted and intimidating,” making his family feel uneasy in their own home.
Earlier in the day, Hubshman came onto his property and threatened him, using words to the effect of “I’m going to blow up your residence,” Loven told police.
He told officers he considered the threat genuine, given Hubshman’s pattern of behavior.
Loven told officers he feared Hubshman would carry out the threat or otherwise harm him or his family members.
Loven said Hubshman fled the area on foot after making the threat, before law enforcement could be contacted.
He told officers he didn’t know her current whereabouts.
He reiterated that he feared for the well-being of everyone residing at his residence and wanted the incident formally documented due to the escalating nature of Hubshman’s conduct.
Hubshman remains at Lackawanna County Prison in lieu of $10,000 bail.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 9:15 a.m. on June 24 before District Judge Sean McGraw.
