SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA CO. (WOLF) — A Lackawanna County jury has convicted a man on a dozen charges after prosecutors said he fired a handgun toward a group of people during a confrontation outside a Walmart in Taylor.
District Attorney Brian Gallagher announced that a jury found Mark Langevine guilty on all 12 counts lodged against him following a two-day trial before Judge Michael J. Barrasse.
According to prosecutors, the charges stem from an April 11, 2025, incident in the Walmart parking lot in Taylor.
Evidence presented during trial showed Langevine discharged a 9mm handgun in the direction of multiple people during a confrontation, creating what prosecutors described as a substantial risk of death or serious bodily injury to those nearby.
Authorities said the shooting occurred in a busy retail parking lot and placed members of the public at risk.
“Gun violence has no place in Lackawanna County,” Gallagher said in a statement. “When someone chooses to fire a handgun into a group of people, they are making a conscious decision to put innocent lives at risk.”
The jury convicted Langevine of aggravated assault and 11 other related offenses.

Gallagher also praised investigators and prosecutors involved in the case, noting that several victims became uncooperative before trial.
“I am so appreciative of the trial team not backing down when many of the victims became uncooperative prior to trial,” Gallagher said. “Investigative work and trial preparation when issues like this arise during a case are critical to successful prosecutions and holding violent offenders accountable.”
The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys David Sofanelli and Danielle Guari. The investigation was conducted by the Taylor Borough Police Department.
Langevine faces a maximum possible sentence of 31 years in prison.
