2 children stuck in storm drain in Spring Township, crews called

Emergency crews rescued two children trapped in a storm drain Wednesday afternoon, according to emergency reports.

Reports about 3:20 p.m. noted two boys yelling from a storm drain in the 2200 block of Burkey Drive in Spring Township.

Rescue crews confirmed the presence of kids in the storm drain and said they were accessing the drain from the Fromuth Racquet Sports store parking lot.

Responding officials recalled any units not already on the scene about 10 minutes after the initial call.

Police were called back to the scene at 3:45 to assist with the removal.
