Community members will have an opportunity to help local students prepare for the upcoming school year during the upcoming “Stuff the Bus” school supply drive in McKean.
The event will take place on July 18, 2026, from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the St. Francis Usher’s Club, located at 9085 Main Street in McKean.
Organizers are encouraging residents to donate school supplies that will help area children start the school year with the tools they need to succeed. Anyone who contributes will have their name added to a banner recognizing event sponsors.
Collected supplies will be distributed to students and families on July 25, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the St. Francis Usher’s Club.
Items needed include:
Bookbags
Pencils
Highlighters
Crayons (Crayola preferred)
Colored pencils (Crayola preferred)
Markers (Crayola preferred)
Styluses
Scissors
Kleenex
Notebooks
Two-pocket folders
One- and two-inch binders
Glue sticks
Erasers
Earbuds
Cash donations will also be accepted and used to purchase additional supplies for students.
Organizers say the goal is to ensure local school-aged children have access to essential classroom materials before classes begin this fall.
