Officials have identified the two men killed last week in a crash involving two motorcycles and an electric bike.

Northampton County Coroner Zachary Lysek said Colin Gale, 24 of Quakertown, and Blas Fermin, 46, of Bethlehem, were killed Friday night in the crash in Bethlehem’s South Side. Fermin was riding an electric bike that was hit by Gale, who was riding a motorcycle, Lysek said.

The crash happened about 7 p.m. at the intersection of Daly Avenue and the Minsi Trail Bridge, city police said.  Fermin was riding south in the marked crosswalk when he was hit by Gale’s motorcycle, which was traveling east in the right lane of Daly Avenue, the department said.

The collision caused Gale’s motorcycle to move to the left and hit another motorcycle next to him. Both Gale and the other motorcyclist were thrown from their bikes.

The rider of the second motorcycle, a 25-year-old from Bethlehem, was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment of his injuries.

Lysek said Fermin and Gale’s deaths were caused by blunt-force trauma, with the manner accidental.

Anyone with information on the crash is asked to call police at 610-997-7666.
