BAKER CITY — Summer reading programs are underway at the Baker County Public Library, and this year’s theme is “Plant a Seed, Read!”
Readers of all ages can track reading time on paper forms available at the library, 2400 Resort St., or through the Beanstack app. The program’s final day is Aug. 7 and features a party — with prizes — to celebrate all the reading minutes logged during the summer.
But the summer program isn’t just about books — library staff have a bunch of activities planned for the next few months.
Every Tuesday, families can join a walk on the Leo Adler Memorial Parkway at 8:15 a.m., then stick around for storytime in the park at 10 a.m.
Arts and crafts for all ages is held on Thursdays from 9-11 a.m., and Kindermusik with Building Healthy Families also happens Thursdays at 10 a.m.
Several book clubs are on the schedule — the adult book club reads mystery/thriller and meets on the third Wednesday at noon; the Tween Book Club (June 24) and Kids Book Club (July 1) meet every other Wednesday, on alternating weeks; and the Teen Book Club meets Mondays at noon. Pick up a schedule at the library for details.
In July, look for the “Choose Your Own Adventure” activity at the library.
