WILKES-BARRE — A man from Lackawanna County was arraigned Thursday on a 2023 arrest warrant charging him with soliciting two teenage girls for sex.

James Blair, 45, of Mayfield, was charged by Wilkes-Barre City police detectives with conversing online with two adults posing as two 15-year-old girls in January 2022, according to court records.

During online conversations, Blair expressed his interest in having sexual acts with the juveniles, and pledged to bring “a bunch of condoms” and Tequila, court records say.

Court records allege Blair showed up at a residence on South Welles Street, Wilkes-Barre, bringing beer and Tequila and fled when he was confronted by one of the adults. Blair left behind the beer and Tequila when he fled, court records say.

A police detective obtained an arrest warrant for Blair from District Judge Thomas Malloy of Wilkes-Barre on Jan. 10, 2023, charging him with four counts of criminal attempt to commit unlawful contact with a minor, and one count each of criminal solicitation to commit statutory sexual assault and criminal use of communication facility.

Blair was arraigned on the warrant by District Judge Ferris Webby of Wright Township and jailed at the Luzerne County Correctional Facility for lack of $75,000 bail.
