The Erie Rainbow Bridge Pet Memorial Garden in Scott Park from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. on July 11 will host a special dual event celebrating the 1st Annual Honor Pets Over the Rainbow Bridge Day and the official opening of Aimee’s Garden.
The gathering will provide families and pet lovers an opportunity to remember and honor beloved pets who have crossed the Rainbow Bridge while also paying tribute to Aimee, the husky whose death from neglect and cruelty touched hearts throughout the community and beyond.
Aimee’s story inspired Pennsylvania State Senator Dan Laughlin to introduce Aimee’s Law, helping raise awareness about animal cruelty and the need for stronger protections for animals.
Organizers are inviting current and future members of the Rainbow Bridge community, families wishing to honor a cherished pet, supporters of Aimee’s Law, and anyone who believes animals deserve love, compassion, and protection.
As part of the remembrance ceremony, attendees are encouraged to bring flowers to place along both sides of the Rainbow Bridge. Flowers may be left in memory of personal pets or in honor of Aimee and the lasting impact her story continues to have on the community.
The event will focus on remembrance, healing, and hope while celebrating the lives of cherished companion animals and recognizing the positive change inspired by Aimee’s legacy.
The Erie Rainbow Bridge Pet Memorial Garden also supports the mission of The ANNA Shelter, helping provide food, shelter, medical care, and second chances for animals awaiting their forever homes.
