READING, Pa. – The Berks County Board of Commissioners authorized a memorandum of understanding on Thursday to participate in a regional effort to combat elder abuse.
The “elder abuse multidisciplinary team” is a joint effort among Berks, Lehigh and Lancaster counties.
Officials say the members will be able to better support each other and better coordinate services and responses.
State officials say the effort is designed to increase protection for older Pennsylvanians as abuse cases grow more complex.
