Despite strong winds, residents and visitors turned out Thursday evening to enjoy the opening night of the annual Lake City Fire Carnival.
Hosted by the Lake City Fire Department, the popular community event officially opened to the public with a variety of attractions, food, and entertainment for all ages.
Carnival-goers enjoyed classic fair food and amusement rides, including the debut of a brand-new attraction from Crazy Monkey, giving attendees something new to experience this year.
Live entertainment is also a major part of the festivities, with a different musical guest scheduled each night. Thursday’s opening night featured music from DJ Chris Bova, helping kick off the weekend celebration.
The annual carnival serves as one of the Lake City Fire Company’s largest fundraisers and brings the community together while supporting the department’s ongoing operations and services.
The Lake City Fire Carnival will continue through Saturday night, offering additional opportunities for families and visitors to enjoy rides, food, games, and live entertainment while supporting local firefighters.
