READING, Pa.- Questions continue to swirl around the disappearance and subsequent kidnapping of Michael Petrino Jr. who went missing from the city of Reading in March.
“One thing that is abundantly clear at this point is Michael Petrino Jr. has not been found and we are very concerned,” says Berks County District Attorney John Adams.
Authorities arrested Kahlil Nein on Wednesday night.
“He is now one of six individuals that we have charged with these offenses,” says Adams.
Jazmiere Brockington and Gerson Caicedo are the other two adults.
The three other people arrested are all teenagers, two 16-year-olds and one 17-year-old. All six are being charged as adults and facing charges in this case including kidnapping, false imprisonment, assault and conspiracy.
District Attorney John Adams says authorities are putting a ton of resources into the case. “This is a very active, ongoing investigation and we’re looking for the public’s assistance to move the investigation along,” says Adams. “Hopefully [soon we’ll] get some answers for the Petrino family as to the whereabouts of their son.”
License plate readers and other technology indicate the Chevy Cobalt police say Petrino was forced into after he was abducted left the city of Reading afterward, but details surrounding that are still under investigation.
Meanwhile, Petrino has still not been seen or heard from.
“This has become a very complex investigation and we are working diligently to try to piece together this situation,” says Adams.
