Police: Man loses both legs in a workplace incident in Berks Co. | Northern Berks County

LYON STATION, Pa. – A serious workplace accident led to an employee losing both legs on Saturday.

According to police, a call came in at 6:23 a.m. for an incident at East Penn Manufacturing Company.

Authorities say the man involved in the accident is in stable condition but lost both his legs.

“This employee was involved in an accident while performing maintenance within the Smelter facility,” reads a Facebook post from the company that has since been taken down. “We are working with authorities to do an investigation of the accident, and we will respond in a way that will continue to uphold our utmost concern for everyone’s health and safety.”
