SANDUSKY, Ohio (WOIO) – The Sandusky Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP) is investigating a single-vehicle fatal crash that occurred Saturday evening.
According to OSHP, the crash happened just before 11 p.m. on River Road at state Route 113 in Milan Township.
Preliminary investigation reveals that a Lincoln MKC was traveling southbound on River Road and the driver failed to stop at the posted stop sign at state Route 113.
The driver of the Lincoln was identified as 30-year-old Jacob A. Lehrer, of Sandusky.
After Lehrer failed to stop, his vehicle continued southbound through the intersection, driving off the side of state Route 113 where his vehicle struck a ravine and overturned.
OSHP said Lehrer was ejected from his vehicle and died from his injuries at the scene.
Troopers were assisted on scene by the Erie County Sheriff’s Office, Milan Township Fire Department, North Central EMS, Erie County Coroner’s Office and Central Automotive.
The crash remains under investigation, OSHP said.
