WHITEHALL, Pa. – Monday night at 7:00 p.m. the Whitehall Coplay School Board will hold its monthly board meeting.
This meeting is garnering much community interest as the district faces financial hardships.
Monday’s meeting comes nearly one month after the board moved forward with a proposal to cut dozens of positions. The reorganization plan was met with push back from the community.
A major item that community members are taking interest in is the budget. We previously reported that the proposed budget features a 4.7% tax increase. That is the highest amount Whitehall-Coplay can raise taxes per the Act 1 Index.
The budget needs final approval, with a deadline looming.
Listed under executive committee matters are 3 percent supplemental salary increases for the Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent.
Also on the agenda is the approval of employee salaries, and multiple compensation plans.
The meeting is set for 7:00 at the WCSD Education Center.
