OBITUARY
Lorraine M. (Swiencki) Roman entered this life on October 8, 1935 in Taylor, Pennsylvania. She was the daughter of the late Edward and Sophie (Kopack) Swiencki. She was raised and educated in the Scranton area. She worked at Capital Records in Scranton when she met Charles Chuck Roman. They fell in love, moved to Lake Hopatcong New Jersey and became the mother of 4 children, Eric, Renee, Janice and Leah. She was a full time mother until she became a bank teller at a local bank. She was forever passionate and involved with the Polish National Catholic Church especially after a move to Conyngham Pennsylvania. She filled numerous roles at her church in Hazleton, PA including top pierogi pincher! Many long term friendships were made there.
Retirement years took Lorraine and husband Chuck to Mesa Arizona where they bought a home and joined Chuck’s brother and sister in law who were there for years. Lots of time spent bowling, dining and playing board games. They traveled frequently visiting family and exploring places they had not been to before. In their local area she enjoyed light hiking, visiting local lakes, partaking of local entertainment venues and even sitting quietly with a book watching the love of her life fish. She was blessed to become a grandmother to 11 and so far great grandmother to 10. Once the babies started arriving, she was in her glory. Up to her final hours the babies put a smile on her face.
Lorraine is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, Chuck. She is also survived by son Eric Roman with wife Kathie of Layton UT, daughters Renee Snow of Pottstown PA, Janice Maguire of Long Valley NJ and Leah Klinger with husband Kirk of Smithfield VA. And Grandchildren Amanda, Andre, Greg, Nick, Melissa, Monique, Lindsey, Jared, Roman, Luke and Rachel. Her legacy continues with 10 great grandchildren.
