The Tulsa City-County Library is kicking off its annual Summer Reading Program with exciting activities and fun prizes for readers of all ages. The 2026 series, “Unearth a Story,” runs from June 1 to July 31 with four program options: Littles (birth to Pre-K), Children (K-fifth grade), Teen and Tween (sixth to 12th) and Adult (ages 16+).
Participants can sign up starting June 1 on the TCCL SRP app, at the Bookmobile traveling library, or in-person at any of TCCL’s 24 locations. Just by registering, participants of all ages get a free ticket to the Tulsa Oilers Football game on Saturday, July 11, while supplies last. Prizes for those who complete the program are awarded beginning June 22 and must be picked up in-person.
Younger readers (fifth grade and below) who read or listen to eight books by July 31 can earn a medal, coupon book and prize drawing entries. Finishing another 12 books, or 20 total, unlocks a dinosaur plushie and glow-in-the-dark dinosaur stickers for the “Littles” and “Children’s” programs, respectively.
For Teen/Tween participants, six books completed nets an axolotl squish toy and coupons for sponsoring local businesses. The “Adult” category goal is four books, and all programs have a final deadline of July 31 — with participants also eligible to win a coupon book in addition to entry into a drawing for prizes like a Discovery Lab family membership, a $50 Glacier Chocolate gift card and a Whataburger gift basket.
All prizes are available while supplies last and must be picked up by July 31. More details about the program’s sponsors, program events and prize list are available at tulsalibrary.org/summer.
