A local nonprofit is continuing its mission to support families in need while advancing a major multi-million-dollar redevelopment effort in Erie.
The Mazzini Charitable Foundation, led by President Tim Necastro, recently partnered with AHN Saint Vincent Hospital to sort and clean 70 crates of donated China and kitchenware. The items—including plates, cups, and dishes will be distributed to several local organizations serving families in need.
Recipients include the Mercy Center for Women, the Free for All Store at Wayne School, and the Erie Free Store. From there, the items will be passed directly to families, helping ensure household essentials are accessible to those who need them most.
The effort is also helping clear space at St. Paul School as part of the broader “Triangle of Hope” initiative, a $7 million project aimed at transforming the former school into a community neighborhood center.
Necastro says the long-term goal is to complete the transformation by next June, building a space that will continue to serve as a hub for support services and community resources across Erie.
