BETHLEHEM, Pa. – A new spot for unique drinks and desserts, including karak chai, date cardamom lattes, mango cold foam matcha and pistachio knafeh cookies, is coming soon to Northampton County.
The first Pennsylvania location of Karak House Coffee Co., offering “an authentic Karak chai and specialty coffee experience,” will open later this year at 318 E. Third St. in Bethlehem, co-founder and CEO Junaid Malik told 69 News.

The new café will operate a few doors down from Sizzling Bites on the ground floor of the Third & Polk Building.
“We are incredibly excited to bring Karak House Coffee Co. to the Bethlehem community…” Malik said.
“We are currently aiming for a fall 2026 opening. As we finalize our build-out and approach the date, we will have a more specific grand opening date to share.”
Karak House was established in 2023 in Laguna Hills, California with a goal of bringing the authentic chai experience to a modern, welcoming setting, according to an online description.

Malik founded the business with his brothers, Zohaib and Rohail Malik, and the group has steadily grown the brand via franchised locations across the country.
“Karak House started the way every good chai conversation starts — with friends, a kitchen, and the words “let’s have some Karak,’” an online description reads.
“… The recipe came from home. The hospitality came from how we were raised. The rest came from the people who showed up every day.”
Over the past few years, the brand has grown to more than a dozen open and coming-soon locations nationwide.
Karak House Coffee Co. is now setting up shop in prominent cities such as San Diego, California; Charlotte, North Carolina; and Tempe, Arizona.

The Bethlehem café will operate along a busy stretch of East Third Street in south Bethlehem, across from the Lehigh Valley Charter High School for the Arts and near other prominent institutions and venues such as Lehigh University, the ArtsQuest Center at SteelStacks and Northampton Community College’s Fowler Family Southside Center.
Guests of Karak House can enjoy karak chai, made the traditional way with black tea, fresh milk and a house spice blend simmered slowly, along with specialty coffee drinks, pastries and desserts.
Popular selections include a date cardamom latte (espresso, milk, dates and cardamom; naturally sweet and deeply aromatic); iced pistachio Spanish latte (pistachio, espresso and sweetened condensed milk over ice); mango cold foam matcha (ceremonial-grade matcha, cold milk and mango cold foam on top); and pistachio knafeh cookie (crispy knafeh shell with pistachio cream inside).
Other menu highlights include specialty teas such as Moroccan mint tea and Turkish black tea; specialty lattes such as a golden saffron latte and an iced strawberry matcha; and other hand-crafted lattes and espresso classics such as Americano, cappuccino, mocha lattes and honey lavender lattes.
“From our shareable chai pots to seasonal lattes, mango matcha refreshers, and pistachio mochas — every drink is a tiny ceremony,” reads a message on the business’ website. “Hand-spiced, hand-poured, made the way we’d make it for family at home.”
Guests also can enjoy refreshers such as rose mint lemonade and cucumber mint lemonade; and house-made pastries and desserts such as croissants, macarons, cheesecake and assorted cookies.
