PLAINS TWP. — Wyoming Borough council member Russell Herron Jr. was charged by Plains Township police with violating a protection-from-abuse order when he allegedly intimidated an ex-girlfriend at Mohegan Sun Pennsylvania’s Party on the Patio last week.
It is Herron’s second PFA violation involving the same woman.
Court records filed by Plains Township police allege Herron was with a group of friends when he walked past the woman during Party on the Patio on June 18.
The woman told police, court records say, Herron and his group stood in close proximity to her with Herron standing two feet away.
She told police she felt frightened and intimidated and left the patio, and reported the alleged incident to police.
Herron was arraigned by District Judge Kyle Halesey of Hanover Township on a single count of indirect criminal contempt of a protection-from-abuse order.
Herron was sentenced by Court of Common Pleas Judge Tina Polachek Gartley in March 2026 to six months’ probation for violating the PFA order initially ordered by Court of Common Pleas Judge Tarah Toohil in November 2024.
The PFA was granted after the woman reported Herron threatened to release explicit pictures taken during their relationship, court records say.
Toohil granted the woman a two-year PFA order that prohibited Herron from having any contact with her.
Herron was convicted by Gartley of violating the PFA when he posted a letter that referenced the woman.
Gartley sentenced Herron to six months’ probation, including conditions that prohibit Herron from consuming alcohol and frequenting places that serve alcohol.
Herron was jailed on the recent alleged PFA violation offense, with a hearing scheduled for June 30 at the Luzerne County Courthouse.
