READING, Pa. – The Reading Hospital posted online that the region is facing a critical shortage of blood, especially Type-O blood.
Officials are asking anyone who’s able and eligible to donate blood to the Miller Keystone Blood Center.
The center has a location in Bern Township.
The Red Cross says it’s seen a 20-percent drop in the blood supply in recent weeks.
Summer shortages are often linked to schools being on break and people taking vacations.
