Greetings, all! Well, the operational Big Boy is in NEPA and traveled across the Nicholson Viaduct. Special thanks to Cindy Decker, who took beautiful pictures of the bridge and that giant locomotive as it crossed and then posted them on her Facebook page. Luckily, we can always see the other Big Boy which is on permanent display at Steamtown in Scranton.

Factoryville Borough is doing sidewalk work for ADA compliance, paving throughout the town, and movement of a telephone pole during this week. Check out their Facebook page for any updates as they get more information on locations and starting points. Parking on the streets will not be possible during paving, so please plan accordingly.
Factoryville Library Book Club is reading “The Shack” by William P. Young. They will be meeting at the library on Thursday, July 16 at noon to discuss it. If you are interested, stop at the library this Saturday to pick up the book to read and join in on the conversation at the next meeting.
By now you should have noticed that the recycling containers have been removed from Creekside Park. You may bring your recycling to the Wyoming County Recycling Center in Tunkhannock Twp.

Lake Winola has the Dave McGovern Memorial Winola Wiggle 5K Walk/Run on Saturday, June 27. Register 7:30 – 8:25 a.m., followed by the start at 9 a.m. All are welcome to participate in the event. The annual car wash fundraiser for jr. high and varsity cheerleaders of Lackawanna Trail is Sunday, June 28, at the Dalton Do It Center from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Creek Day for the kids at Creekside Park, 166-178 Creek Road is on Wednesday, July 15, 11 a.m.-2 p.m., with a rain date of July 22. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
And one more reminder: Dalton Fire Company’s 103rd Carnival is Wednesday, July 8 – Saturday, July 11 at their Carnival Grounds, beginning at 6 p.m. Dalton Fire Company has their Carnival’s Car Cruise and Show on Saturday, July 11 on their carnival grounds. This is free to join in. All years, makes, models, of cars, trucks, and motorcycles are welcome. Line up at 4:30 p.m. on Equestrian Drive (off Lily Lake Road in Dalton.
