John A. Wells Jr.
OBITUARY
John A. Wells Jr., age 77, passed away on June 22, 2026, at Geisinger Community Medical Center. His wife of 61 years is the former Susan Schmidt.
Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late John A. Sr. and Edna Ives Wells.
John took great pride in his work as a farmer, and he was a logger for many years. His animals were his whole life.
He is survived by his daughter, Susan and husband Leroy Henry of Scranton; son, John Wells III and girlfriend Judy Schatz of Ransom Township; daughter, Ann Marie Wells of Ransom Township; and son William Wells and girlfriend Jocelyn Branas of Scranton; sister, Frances and husband Henry Makowski of Scranton; sister-in-law Dorothy Wells of Ransom Township. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Donald Wells.
Services will be held on Thursday, June 25, from 5 to 7 pm at the Solfanelli-Fiorillo Funeral Home Inc., 1030 N. Main Avenue, Scranton. Friends and family may pay their respects from 5 pm until time of service.
