A Stroudsburg man faces multiple drug and vehicle-related charges after an early morning traffic stop Sunday, the Scranton Police Department said in a release.

Officers patrolling the North Scranton area in response to numerous reports of car break-ins attempted to stop a vehicle for failing to comply with traffic control signals on Oak Street.

The driver, later identified as Toy Garrett, fled. Garrett was later located on Ferdinand Street after a one-vehicle crash into a fixed object, police said.

Garrett faces a slew of charges including possession with intent to deliver numerous types of narcotics, possession of drug paraphernalia, tampering with evidence and flight to avoid apprehension.

He was arraigned Sunday before District Judge Alyce Farrell, who denied bail, and remains at Lackawanna County Prison. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for July 2.
