A man is in custody after contacting a 13-year-old and trying to engage in sexual intercourse with the teen in Bensalem Township, police said on Wednesday.
The suspect, 30-year-old Bo Branstetter, of Bensalem Township, was out on bail for similar crimes in Camden County, New Jersey, police said.
Branstetter met the teen on a social media/dating app, where the girl told him she was 13 and in the 8th grade, police said. Branstetter then continued to message her, sent her explicit photos of himself, said he wanted to engage in sexual acts with her and requested she send him explicit photos.
Branstetter continued the conversation over several days and set up a meeting with the teen on June 23 for a sexual encounter, police said. But when Branstetter drove to meet her, he was met by officers of the Bensalem Township Police Department.
The 30-year-old was charged with unlawful contact with a minor, sexual abuse of children (photo/video) and other related charges, police said. He is being held on $5,000,000 bail.
