The Philly Fairy Festival is returning to the Schuylkill Center this Saturday (June 27) with the goal of providing a world where ”imagination, creativity, and nature come together” for visitors.

Set amid the Center’s woodlands and scenic trails, this annual celebration transforms the forest into a local “realm” filled with fairies, woodland creatures, and experiences designed to inspire exploration in nature.

From noon to 4 p.m., festival-goers can immerse themselves in a day of activities and fantasy-inspired fun by dressing up in costume and meeting different characters on site. One of the festival’s signature activities — the chance to build and decorate a fairy house for the Fairytale Trail — will also be back in 2026. Everyone is welcome to contribute to the growing woodland village, a display that will stay in place for the duration of the event.

The festival also showcases a variety of local artists, makers, and craftspeople who share traditional skills and creative techniques inspired by folklore and the natural world. Visitors can learn new crafts, browse unique handmade goods, and experience storytelling through art. Adventurous attendees can also choose to visit the Alchemists Guild to sample potions, and those seeking refreshments can stop by the Court of Food for snacks and treats.

Hosted at the Schuylkill Center for Environmental Education, the festival reflects the organization’s longstanding commitment to connecting people with nature. Founded in 1965 as Philadelphia’s first environmental education center, the Schuylkill Center encompasses 365 acres of forests, fields, and wildlife habitat that serve as a “living laboratory for learning and exploration.” The Center achieves this work through environmental education programs, wildlife rehabilitation, art initiatives, volunteer opportunities, and community events.

Tickets for the Philly Fairy Festival are $20 for the general public and $10 for Schuylkill Center members. Online ticket sales close at 4 p.m. on June 26, with tickets also available at the door for $25. The Schuylkill Center is located at 8480 Hagy’s Mill Road.
