Ronald A. Frekey
OBITUARY
Ronald A. Frekey, 76, of Dickson City, died on Monday, June 15, 2026, unexpectedly at home. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Linda Stadnitski Frekey.
Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late Albert and Rita Falong Frekey, and he was a member of SS Cyril and Methodius Ukrainian Catholic Church, Olyphant. He was a graduate of Dickson City High School, class of 1967, where he played basketball for the Blackhawks. He later attended the University of Scranton, and he graduated from Johnson College with a degree in carpentry. He retired from the Lackawanna County Housing Authority as a supervisor after 35 years of service. He was a member of the Local Carpentry Union 445, Scranton.
Ron was a loving and caring husband to his wife Linda, and father to Corinne and Alex. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and golfing, especially with his neighbor and friend Ron Bednarz. He enjoyed several trips to Arizona to visit his son and his family, and he will be greatly missed by anyone who knew him.
Surviving is a daughter, Corinne Mina, and husband, Jason, Throop; a son, Alex Frekey, and fiance, Drisa Carrizo, Phoenix, AZ; grandchildren, Addisyn and Arianna Mina, and Xander Frekey; a sister, Cheryl Farinelli, New Jersey; several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends may call on Saturday morning from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at SS Cyril & Methodius Ukrainian Catholic Church, 135 N. River St., Olyphant. A funeral Liturgy celebrated by Rev. Nestor Iwasiw will begin at 11 a.m. Arrangements Frank T. Mazur Funeral Home, Inc., Dickson City.
