Three people suffered serious injuries early Sunday morning in a wrong-way DUI crash on Interstate 81 in South Abington Twp., state police said.
State police at Dunmore reported that the wreck occurred around 12:15 a.m. on I-81 north near mile marker 193, near the Layton Road overpass.
Police provided no information on the identities of the people involved.
One vehicle was traveling south in the northbound lanes when it collided head-on with a vehicle traveling north in the left northbound lane. Both vehicles rotated clockwise before coming to rest on the right shoulder. The engine compartment of the second vehicle caught fire.
