The Philadelphia Fairy Festival is this weekend! A sold out event at the Schuylkill Center for Environmental Education. I mentioned it on the air a few times this week, but the weather has postponed the event to the rain date on Sunday.
The festival was supposed to happen Saturday, 6/27 from noon to 4pm. With the rain in the forecast for tomorrow, that has been moved to Sunday, same time, noon to 4pm. The event is sold out. Tickets in advance and at the door are both sold out. The drop off deadline for anyone that made a fairy cottage for the Fairytale Trail is today (Friday, 6/26) at 5pm.
I signed our family up to make one of the fairy houses. We made one, but it isn’t very good. HOWEVER, if you factor in the heat outside, and making it with a 4 year-old AND a (almost) 2 year-old on my lap, then this is the best fairy cottage possible.

We really did try. I can’t wait to see (and to have my kids see) the pretty ones though. HERE is a link to see some of the fairy houses from last year.
The event really seems lovely. I’m looking forward to it. Not sure what to wear, but now with the rain delay, I have another day to figure that out.

The best part of the Philadelphia Fairy Festival is that it’s organized by an incredible organization. The proceeds from the event help to support free and low-cost events they hold at the Schuylkill Center all throughout the year. They have a nature preschool and wildlife clinics and they work to make the world a better place for animals and people alike, each and every day. Sounds pretty magical to me.
