Erie High football welcomed teams from across Pennsylvania and Ohio for the third annual Fred Biletnikoff 7-on-7 and Big Man Challenge at Biletnikoff Field.
“It means a lot, not only to our school program but to the community,” said Erie High Football coach Andre Henderson. “You know we’re expecting a lot of people to come out and pull out their lawn chairs and sit back and enjoy some high school football. For Fred [Biletnikoff], to help him help get people to invest in the program, invest in a school district, to help build this field and for us to put on events like this, you know, get the field out there to make other teams want to come back and participate in next year.”
The event featured Erie High, Corry and Iroquois competing against teams from the Pittsburgh City League as well as schools from eastern Ohio. The day gave players an opportunity to sharpen their skills ahead of the upcoming high school football season.
The competition showcased passing drills in the 7-on-7 tournament while linemen tested their strength and technique in the Big Man Challenge, allowing teams to evaluate talent and build chemistry during the offseason.
