A road in Pittsburgh’s West View neighborhood was shut down Saturday evening after officials said a tree fell onto multiple wires and sparked a small fire. In a post from the West View Volunteer Fire Department, fire and police had Stanford Avenue shut down between Harvard Avenue and Kenyon Avenue around 4:30 p.m. Officials said a moderate-sized tree broke loose and fell onto several “high tension electrical lines,” starting a small fire on the side of the road. A video shared by the department on Facebook showed heavy amounts of white smoke emitting from the wires as they lay in a grass patch on the side of the road.
