Jewish Family Service of Northeastern Pennsylvania celebrated its 111th annual meeting June 18 at the Scranton JCC, honoring Dr. Daniel Ginsberg for a lifetime of service, leadership and dedication to the community. Family, friends, colleagues and community leaders gathered to recognize his contributions over more than five decades as a social worker, educator, advocate and volunteer. As he approaches his 95th birthday in September, Ginsberg continues to exemplify the values of compassion, service and community engagement that have defined his life and career, JFS leaders said. Throughout the evening, speakers reflected on Ginsberg’s profound impact on countless individuals and organizations throughout Northeast Pennsylvania, including Jewish Family Service, United Cerebral Palsy, United Neighborhood Centers, the Scranton Public Library, the Jewish Community Center and Temple Israel.
