After selecting defenseman Maksim Sokolovskii of the London Knights with the 27th overall pick in the first round, the Philadelphia Flyers returned to the draft floor on Saturday for Rounds 2-7 of the 2026 NHL Draft.

Philadelphia entered the day with multiple picks after trading down from No. 21 to No. 27 in the first round, allowing the organization to add extra draft capital while still landing a player they valued highly in Sokolovskii.

The Flyers opened the second round by selecting right-shot defenseman Brek Liske from the WHL’s Everett Silvertips with the 53rd overall pick. Liske, a 6-foot-2 defenseman, is known for his ability to create high-end offensive opportunities from the blue line while also playing a reliable two-way game.

For Liske, the moment carried extra significance. The Winnipeg native grew up as a Flyers fan and was thrilled to hear his name called by the organization. Although he was not in Buffalo for the draft, his excitement was evident after being selected by the team he supported throughout his childhood.

Philadelphia stayed busy in the second round, using the 62nd overall selection on goaltender Martin Psohlavec of HC Energie Karlovy Vary in the Czech Extraliga. The selection gives the Flyers another young netminder to develop within their prospect system as they continue to build organizational depth between the pipes.

The Flyers did not make another selection until the fourth round, where they selected goaltender Marek Sklenicka of the Seattle Thunderbirds with the 120th overall pick. By drafting a second goalie, Philadelphia further strengthened a position that often requires patience and long-term development.

In the fifth round, the Flyers selected center Kent Sauer from Andover High School with the 136th overall pick. Sauer becomes another developmental prospect added to the organization’s forward group and will look to continue refining his game in the coming years.

Philadelphia wrapped up its draft class in the seventh round by selecting defenseman Max Laatikainen with the 213th overall pick. Laatikainen played for Kiekko-Espoo in Finland’s SM-liiga and adds another international prospect to the Flyers’ growing defensive pipeline.

Overall, the Flyers used the 2026 NHL Draft to add size, skill, and depth throughout the organization.
