BETHLEHEM, Pa. – A new restaurant will soon welcome hungry foodies in the Lehigh Valley.
A new location of Taco Tek Mexican Grill, offering freshly prepared Mexican food, is coming soon to 3211 Schoenersville Road in Bethlehem.
The new restaurant will occupy an updated Schoenersville Centre space that previously housed a Moe’s Southwest Grill location, which closed in the spring after about 14 years of operation.

The new Taco Tek restaurant is expected to open in late summer and will be the brand’s first Pennsylvania location, supplementing two existing locations in New York City, according to Mike Makhoul, a realtor with The James Balliet Property Group, which handles leasing at the Schoenersville Centre.
According to Taco Tek’s social media pages, one New York City location held a soft opening in March at 952 Southern Blvd. in The Bronx, and another location will hold a grand opening on Friday, July 3, at 151 E. 116th St. in Harlem.
Coming soon signage in the Bethlehem storefront’s window includes a QR code that directs individuals to Taco Tek Mexican Grill’s website.
Restaurants offer “authentic, no-nonsense Mexican flavors,” with workers chopping produce every morning, marinating meats overnight and “never touching a microwave,” according to a message on the business’ website.
“We don’t do freezers and we don’t do preservatives,” the online message continues.
“Just honest ingredients prepared fresh daily. Choose from our signature cooked-to-order proteins, house-made salsas, and endless toppings to build your perfect meal.”

Customers start by selecting their style (burrito, burrito bowl, salad, quesadilla, loaded nachos or street tacos) before then choosing their base (Mexican rice, cilantro lime rice, black beans or pinto beans), protein (grilled chicken, honey chipotle chicken, ground beef, steak, shrimp, vegetable/tofu or cauliflower), toppings (queso, spicy queso, cilantro, fajita veggies, pico salsa, spicy salsa, guacamole, spicy guacamole, Monterrey jack cheese, Mexican cheese, romaine lettuce, jalapeno and lime wedge) and sauce (cilantro, sweet mango, verde or chipotle).
Customers also can enjoy steak or chicken birria tacos (slow-cooked until meat falls apart, packed into corn tortillas and griddled until crispy; served with a side of rich dipping broth, cilantro and onions), along with kids options and desserts such as Oreo churros and dulce de leche churros.

Dine-in, take-out, delivery and catering services are available.
“All of our ingredients are never frozen, always fresh, and we never use any preservatives,” reads a message on Taco Tek’s website. “Everything is prepared fresh daily.”
At the Schoenersville Centre, Taco Tek is joining other food and drink spots, including Haaz’s, Saladworks, Starbucks and Manhattan Bagel.
