Reading’s new fire chief takes oath of office at City Hall | Reading Area

READING, Pa. – Reading’s new fire chief just took the oath of office.

Chief Robert Leonard was formally sworn in at the City Council Committee of the Whole Meeting at City Hall.

The meeting started at 5 p.m. Monday.

Leonard became Reading’s fire chief in March after working as an assistant fire chief in Prince George’s County, Maryland.

He replaces Chief James Stoudt, who retired earlier this year after more than three decades with the department.
