ARCHBALD, LACKAWANNA CO. (WOLF) — Family and friends are rallying to support the parents of a 19-year-old man who died following a shooting in Archbald over the weekend.

An online fundraiser has been launched to help ease the financial burden on the family of Tyvon Ash, whose death has left loved ones and the community mourning.

Organizers describe Ash as a 2025 graduate of Scranton High School who earned his plumbing certification through the Career Technology Center. They said he worked at Cooper’s Seafood House and was known as a “gentle giant” with a bright future ahead of him.

“Tyvon was the world to his amazing parents and family,” the fundraiser states. “He truly did not deserve any of this.”

The fundraiser also describes Ash’s death as an “unexpected, earth-shattering tragedy” and says donations will help relieve some of the burden facing his parents, Genese and Phillip, as they navigate the days ahead.

Ash died after a shooting Saturday in Archbald. Pennsylvania State Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident. Authorities have not announced any arrests or released additional details about what led to the shooting.
