Matthew J. Susnosky
OBITUARY
Matthew J. Susnosky, 39, of Peckville, passed away Sunday Evening at home after an illness related to sleep apnea.
Born in Scranton, he was the son of Patricia A. Susnosky and the late William A. Susnosky.
Matthew was married to Sarah Marchelitis, Dunmore, PA. They were newlyweds who were recently married on May 20, 2026 in Las Vegas, Nevada. He loved his family and enjoyed many trips to Ocean City Maryland.
Matt was a graduate of Valley View High School, Class of 2005 and was an avid swimmer. He swam on the VV Swim Team for several years. Matt attended Lackawanna College and Luzerne Community College. He was employed at Mafaldas for many years, Mercy Hospital and, most recently, Universal Printing as Journeyman. Matt was a longtime member of Shopa-Davey and Eynon VFWs.
Also surviving is his brother, Andrew Susnosky and wife Casey, Peckville; his nieces and nephews, Scarlett and William Susnosky and Vincenzo Chiappini and Giovanni Marchelitis; a sister-in-law, Katie Marchelitis; many aunts, uncles and cousins.
The funeral will be on Tuesday with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11am at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Peckville. Interment will follow at St. Cyril’s Cemetery, Blakely. There will be a viewing from 10am until the time of Mass, at the church. Arrangements are under the care and direction of James M. Margotta Funeral Home, Peckville.
