N. WHITEHALL TWP., Pa – A tractor trailer and motorcycle accident on the PA Turnpike Tuesday has turned fatal.
Preliminary information indicates a man was driving a motorcycle when he was involved in a collision with a tractor-trailer on the Pennsylvania Turnpike. The crash happened around 4:25 p.m. on the northbound side near Mile Marker 63.1 in North Whitehall Township, according to the Lehigh County Coroner’s Office.
Coroner Daniel Buglio says the motorcyclist suffered multiple traumatic injuries in the crash and was transported to Lehigh Valley Hospital–Cedar Crest, where he was pronounced deceased despite medical intervention.

The decedent has been positively identified; however, next-of-kin notifications are still in progress. Buglio says out of respect for the family’s privacy and to allow them time to grieve this sudden and tragic loss, the decedent’s identity will not be released at this time.
The investigation remains active and ongoing. In addition to the Lehigh County Coroner’s Office & Forensic Center, the Pennsylvania State Police -Pocono Station is conducting the crash investigation.
