A Conyngham man was killed in a hit-and-run vehicle crash in Philadelphia and authorities are searching for the suspect who is still at-large.
Bryce Wolfe, 20, Conyngham, was living in Philadelphia and a student at Temple University when investigators say he was hit by a white SUV attempting to make an illegal turn on Kelly Drive near the intersection of Reservoir Drive at approximately 11:15 p.m. on June 24.
The SUV was traveling eastbound and after realizing the turn could not be completed, entered the path of Wolfe traveling westbound on his 2004 Triumph motorcycle.
According to police, the motorcycle struck the SUV, trapping Wolfe underneath.
The driver fled the scene and dragged Wolfe for more than one mile until he became dislodged in the area of Fountain Green Drive.
Wolfe was rushed to the hospital and succumbed to his injuries hours later. Wolfe was wearing a helmet.
Investigators are unsure of the white SUV’s make and model but believe the vehicle may have broken glass on the driver’s side and damage to the driver’s side front wheel well, fender and/or driver’s side door.
“Sending our thoughts and prayers to former Hazleton Area graduate and Temple University student Bryce Wolfe’s family,” Heights Terrace Elementary/Middle School said in a Facebook post. “Bryce’s horrific death saddens our entire community. We pray the Wolfe family finds strength and faith during this devastating time.”
Wolfe graduated from Hazleton Area in 2024, was a state award winner in Future Business Leaders of America and competed with his brother, Tyler, in the school’s unified sports program.
