You read that right. The American Heart Association partnered with 4 FIFA Fan Festivals in the U.S. to offer hands-only CPR lessons. The Philadelphia Fan Festival at Lemon Hill is one of the 4 Fan Festivals that offers the onsite training.

According to the American Heart Association, more than 350,000 cardiac arrests happen outside of hospitals in the United States each year. CPR can double or even triple a person’s chance of survival. The more people learn how to do CPR, the better chance of saving lives.

Nation of Lifesavers

Watch soccer and learn CPR next time you’re at the Fan Festival. The exhibit is called Nation of Lifesavers and their mobile CPR unit will be set up at the FIFA Fan Festival in Lemon Hill through July 19th. Stop by during the festival, and learn a skill that will hopefully empower you to act in an emergency.

Preparing As Many People as Possible

Nancy Brown, Chief Executive Officer of the American Heart Association says, “More than half of people who experience cardiac arrest outside a hospital don’t receive CPR before emergency responders arrive. That’s why we are committed to ensuring more people are trained, confident, and ready to act as a lifesaver in a cardiac emergency.”

The American Heart Association mobile CPR unit will be able to help fans practice Hands-Only CPR, and learn how to recognize cardiac arrest in order to respond quickly and build confidence to take action in an emergency.
