TRENTON, N.J. – New Jersey Gov. Mikie Sherrill signed her first state budget Tuesday, just minutes before the midnight deadline.
The spending plan is nearly $61 billion.
It passed the New Jersey Legislature without much Republican support. Only two Republicans backed the spending bill.
The Governor and fellow Democrats are praising the budget, saying it addresses housing affordability, school aid, and tax relief.
Republicans, however, criticize the budget’s size and its tax policies.
