Beginning around 9 a.m. on July 1 Presque Isle State Park announced that Beach 7 has elevated levels of E. coli and will not permit swimming until further notice.
This restriction only affects Beach 7, and all other beaches are safe for swimming. Re-testing has begun and will continue daily until the E. coli levels reach under 1000 CFU per 100 mL of water.
Beach 7 will still be open to the public; however, guests must stay out of the water during their visit.
