CHEMUNG COUNTY, N.Y. (WETM) – A Pennsylvania man was arrested on Tuesday as a fugitive from justice after deputies in Chemung County said they received a warrant for his arrest.

Michael P. Gevaras, 47, of Spring Brook, was arrested on Tuesday, June 30, as a fugitive from justice from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, as stated in a release from the Chemung County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies said Gevaras had an outstanding arrest warrant for corrupt organizations in Pike County, Pa. He was charged after deputies said the sheriff’s office’s Criminal Investigation Division located him in the town of Southport on Tuesday.

Gevaras was then arrested and processed as a fugitive from justice. According to deputies, he is being held in the Chemung County Jail and is awaiting extradition to Pennsylvania.
