Thursday night’s Salute to Service concert featuring Queen Latifah in Philadelphia has been canceled due to the extreme heat.
The concert, which would have featured Queen Latifah and the United States Army Field Band & Soldiers’ Chorus, was scheduled to take place between 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. at the Independence National Historical Park. An award ceremony was also scheduled to take place at 7:30 p.m. to honor U.S. soldiers and veterans.
The event was part of the Wawa Welcome America festivities. Several of the events have either been canceled or rescheduled amid the current heat wave in the Philadelphia region.
